Elan started Gaia Body Care because she wanted to share the remedies that helped her daughter manage her autoimmune disease. For years, her daughter had chronic hives on a daily basis, preventing her from working and wanting to go out in public at times. As a trained organic chemist, having completed her doctoral degree at the University of Illinois, Chicago and post doctoral work at Yale University, Elan was concerned about he amount of medication that her daughter was taking, including prednisone, and began researching homeopathic therapies. She learned the benefits of various natural oils, including vitamin E oil and started her business so that she could share her products that contain the ideal combination of the best ingredietns. Elan and her daughter use the products today that she sells under her Gaia Body Care label.

Elan  also worked for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and has held leadership and strategy positions at pharmaceutical companies, thus she understands the importance of good manufacturing practices (GMPs). Many homeopathic products do not have FDA over site. Therefore, Elan implemented a quality system philosophy that she learned at FDA and the regulated companies where she worked. Our company follows a quality management system when sourcing and manufacturing our products to ensure they are of the highest quality.
